Leading Voice Lined Up

Former ACNP President Susan Apold to Provide 2013 Conference Keynote Address

A leading national voice for nurse practitioners, Susan Apold has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the California Association for Nurse Practitioners’ 36th Annual Educational Conference.

Apold, PhD, RN, ANP-BC, has served as President of the Nurse Practitioner Association New York State, and has served two terms as President of the American College of Nurse Practitioners.  Shown in the video at right during a 2010 broadcast on the Fox News Network, she is currently Chair-Elect of the Nurse Practitioner Association New York State.

She is the founding Dean and Professor of Nursing at Concordia College-New York, a position she has held since January, 2008.  Prior to appointment to Concordia, Apold served at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx, where she held a number of positions from faculty to Dean of the Department of Nursing, and finally as the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty.  She has authored a variety of publications, has presented at a number of national conferences, and has been awarded more than $3 million in HSRA program grants that funded Workforce Diversity and Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students.

The CANP Annual Educational Conference offers nurse practitioners (as well as physician assistants, nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists and students) the opportunity to learn from some of the most influential figures in the industry. Exhibitors come from all over to showcase the latest products and services. The evening programs offer terrific opportunities to network and socialize.

The 36th Annual Educational Conference takes place March 21-24, 2013 in Monterey.
