The New Graduate Workshop, supported by NSO, is a lecture series led by CANP nurse practitioner experts who cover common topics for new graduates preparing to enter the NP workforce. The workshop provides important training to support the transition from school to actual workplace settings.
There are several key topics explored that do not always get addressed in NP student programs but are critical for entering the NP profession. Our workshop will help you understand the practical purposes of obtaining a job, staying within your scope, how to interview, how to find a job, how to write standardized procedures and legally binding documents to practice, how to negotiate contracts with your new employer, and more.
CANP is pleased to offer the New Graduate Workshop at no charge to members. The cost for non-members is $300.
Please note that you must pay for one full year of membership to be eligible to purchase the New Graduate Workshop at no cost.
To get access to the New Graduate Workshop you must first "purchase" the product (no cost to CANP members, $300 for non-members). To do this, please log in (if you don't already have a website account, you must create one). Then visit the CANP Store and complete the following steps:
Upon completing these steps, you will receive an email that includes a link to access the New Graduate Workshop page.

The California Association for Nurse Practitioners (CANP) provides a forum and unifying voice for more than 30,000 nurse practitioners statewide, often joining forces with other state and national organizations, to advance the profession and bridge health care needs. As the only association solely dedicated to advocating for nurse practitioners in California, we work to protect and expand the critical roles filled by NPs. As a conduit of information, we foster the dissemination of ideas, advice and standards of practice.
