New Leaders Onboard

Two-Year Terms Begin for New CANP Committee Co-Chairs

Linda Trinh and Alexa Curtis are the newest members of the CANP Board of Directors, both having commenced their two-year terms as committee co-chairs.

Trinh, a member of CANP’s Orange County Chapter, began her term as Co-Chair of the Educational Affairs Committee in July. Holding post-Doctorate certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health NP, she currently works for the Orange County-based Progeny Psychiatric Medical Group. She served as President of the Orange County Chapter during the 2015-16 term, and is currently the chapter’s Education Chair.

In her new position on the Board of Directors, Trinh replaces fellow Orange County Chapter member Cher Hagaman. The Educational Affairs Committee is responsible for developing programs to meet the educational needs of members, and collaborates with the Conference Committee in curriculum development for CANP's Annual Educational Conference.

Curtis was seated October 1 as Co-Chair of the Health Policy and Practice Committee (HPPC). She is a former President of CANP’s Sacramento Chapter, and has served as a member of both the Educational Affairs and Health Policy and Practice committees. Likewise certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health NP, Curtis is an Associate Professor and Director of nurse practitioner programs with the University of San Francisco, and works as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Granite Wellness, providing substance use disorder treatment and primary care services.

Curtis replaces Charlotte Gullap-Moore as the new HPPC Co-Chair. The committee oversees the Association’s government relations activities, working in conjunction with CANP’s legislative advocates to help formulate legislative priorities, including the adoption of official Association positions on pending legislation.
