CANP Channel Islands Chapter Meeting Minutes: May 28, 2015

1. Vicky encouraged members to like the Channel Islands Facebook page. We will be utilizing social media to promote membership and member involvement. We will be posting pictures from our events to this site. We have also opened a Twitter account.
2. Vicky, Grace, and Charlotte shared their experience at Lobby Day where they lobbied for SB323/Full Practice Authority.
   1. Encouraged members to reach out to Das Williams
3. We currently have over 100 members in the Channel Islands Chapter. Our goal is to continue to increase membership numbers and members’ involvement in Chapter activities.
4. There will be a summer NP mixer in Santa Barbara County at the Coral Casino on July 24, 2015. This will be for NPs/PAs/MDs. We will use this as a means to reach out to new or expired members. We will also be fundraising in the hopes of establishing a Channel Islands CANP scholarship for an APN student.
5. Teresa took the floor to urge non-members in attendance to join CANP. Membership fees can now be paid quarterly.
6. Job announcements:
   1. Myra announced that Buellton Medical Center has NP positions open.
   2. Santa Barbara Public Health has a Full-time NP/PA position open.
   3. San Sum Clinic has a part-time/24 hours/week NP job in rehab/custodial care/end of life
7. Only members will receive chapter announcements, as well as have the ability to announce jobs via CANP correspondence.
