Featured Practice Question
I have been performing DMV exams for ten years. Now it looks like I am required to take a certification course at the cost of $150 in order to perform the exam; is this correct?
The DMV site indicates that for commercial drivers to receive a license they must use a provider that is registered with the national registry. If this is a frequent patient visit type, completion of the course is highly recommended. Practice requirements are always changing.
Featured Legal Question
I have a part time independent psychopharmacology and psychotherapy private practice (my collaborating physician does not practice on site with me). Am I required to accept a certain number of Medicare patients? I have a Medicare provider number from an old position but will not be re-enrolling as an independent provider to file for reimbursement for services. If a Medicare patient requests my services now, what is the protocol there?
You need to let the patient know that you do not take Medicare, so if they wish to see you they must pay out of pocket. There is no law that states you have to take Medicare or Medi-Cal.
