Each year, CANP chapter leaders from across the state gather during our Leadership Summit, which connects chapter leaders, the CANP Board of Directors and staff to foster an exchange of ideas and information while also developing leadership skills. The event is free of charge and up to two leaders (as designated by chapter president) from each chapter may attend the event.
Chapter leaders from throughout the state gather each year for a full-day program designed to provide a better understanding of the characteristics of an exemplary leader, examine their own leadership style and characteristics, and understand the importance of effective communications in leadership.
The 2019 Summit was held September 21 in Sacramento and was attended by more than 35 leaders representing CANP chapters from across California, as well as the Board of Directors. A highlight of the program was a series of small-group discussions sharing best practices for addressing priorities outlined in CANP's Strategic Plan. Attendees also heard details on plans for advocating in support of Assemby Bill 890.
