NP Week: It's Your Time to Shine Nov. 7-13

California nurse practitioners do amazing work every single day helping patients and making communities healthier. Each year during National Nurse Practitioner Week we celebrate the amazing contributions of NPs while also educating our communities about the role NPs serve in the health care delivery system. This year our week to shine is November 7-13, 2021.

There’s no doubt that nurse practitioners are at the center of health care delivery 365 days a year. For seven of those days, however, we have the opportunity to join forces with associations across the country to let people know just how vital and powerful the role of an NP is.

To celebrate National Nurse Practitioner Week, CANP is jumping in with a campaign of our own. We’ve dedicated each day to an area that reflects our vision of revolutionizing health care and the role of the NP. From legislative advocacy to the health justice initiative — from student support to community education — we are committed to advancing the NP profession. And we want everyone to know about it.

At CANP, we believe that NP Week has a twofold advantage. In addition to increasing awareness of nurse practitioners’ valuable contributions to patient care, it also affords an opportunity to show your pride in your profession.

Each day of the week will be themed to reflect the full scope of CANP’s work on behalf of NPs:

  • 11/7:     Kickoff
  • 11/8:     Membership
  • 11/9:     Advocacy
  • 11/10:     Health Justice
  • 11/11:     Students
  • 11/12:     Education and Community
  • 11/13:     A Resounding Thank You

We sincerely hope you’ll join us in our efforts. From Facebook posts to Twitter, we’ll be spreading the word, so be sure to send us some of your stories from your NP journey.  We’ll be offering branded gifts to those of you who submit stories and testimonials as we raise awareness for the incredible work you’re leading on social media. (If you’re getting the impression that we want to be sure NP Week goes viral, you’re absolutely right.)

Use this link to share your stories.

You’re also encouraged to post directly on social media, and we’ll help with that, too. We will have sample posts — complete with relevant hashtags #NPweek and #PowerinPractice— to get you started. We will even have social cards so you’ll have just the right visual for your post.

We look forward to being in touch in the coming weeks.
