Conference Attendees Set to Learn from Some of the Industry's Most Influential Figures
In addition to networking with peers, learning about the latest legislative advocacy efforts and the chance to soak in the surrounding splendor of one of California’s iconic coastal communities, CANP’s 38th Annual Educational Conference, presented by NSO, provides nurse practitioners (as well as physician assistants, nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists and students) an exciting opportunity to learn from some of the most influential figures in the industry.
The conference takes place March 19-22 at the Marriott Newport Beach Hotel & Spa.
The event offers 81 engaging educational sessions delivered by recognized and emerging industry leaders. Among the offerings are eight workshops offering 3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in a hands-on interactive setting.
The online registration process allows you to plot your schedule so that you can select which sessions or workshops you wish to attend. Before you register, be sure to check out the full program of sessions and workshops in order to take full advantage of all the CEU opportunities the conference has to offer.
Workshops carry an additional registration fee of $75 each. One exception is the Student Workshop taking place Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m, which is free of charge. Entitled “Professional Practice Issues for New Graduates,” the session is guaranteed to help newcomers to the field prepare for the next step in their professional growth.
The workshop schedule includes one newly-added opportunity, “Chest X-Rays in the Office and Urgent Care Setting.” Using case studies and CXRs, participants will practice the process of CXR viewing, as well as learn how to recognize patterns to assist in diagnosis of various pulmonary and CV differential diagnosis. That session takes place Saturday, March 21, beginning at 9 a.m.
Other workshops on the schedule include “EKG Boot Camp: Basic EKG Review,” “Journey to Self-Healing with Healing Touch,” “12 Lead ECG,” “Bridging the Divide: Fine-tuning Communication Skills with Seriously Ill Patients and Their Families,” “Demystifying Pain Management – A Case-based Workshop,” “Coaching Skills for Advanced Practice Nurses,” and “Current Pharmaceutical Management of Type 2 Diabetes.”
