Keeping Leadership Sharp
Each year, CANP chapter leaders from across the state gather during our Leadership Summit, which connects chapter leaders, the CANP Board of Directors and staff to foster an exchange of ideas and information while also developing leadership skills. The event is free of charge and up to two leaders (as designated by chapter president) from each chapter may attend the event.
In past Summits, chapter leaders from throughout the state gathered for a full-day program designed to provide a better understanding of the characteristics of an exemplary leader, examine their own leadership style and characteristics, and understand the importance of effective communications in leadership.
The 2017 Summit was held September 30 in Sacramento and was attended by 45 leaders representing 23 CANP chapters, as well as the entire Board of Directors. The program provided panel discussions on best leadership practices from the chapter level to the state, and effective grassroots advocacy. The event also featured breakout roundtable discussions providing further guidance on leadership at the local level.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the date and location for the 2018 Leadership Summit.
