October 2106

As we all know this election is extremely important and your vote will impact our country and state. CANP is asking that all chapter members get engaged within the political process at the local level and volunteer on a legislative campaign. We are not only nurse practitioners, we are CANP members and it is up to us to raise our CANP profile, build, solidify and/or expand relationships within the local elected official arena. You will find information covers incumbents and/or those running for a local office with the Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Bone health is an important factor in an individual's overall health. The promotion of bone health must begin before birth and continue throughout life into old age. The nurse practitioner (NP) is uniquely positioned to identify patients who are at increased risk for osteoporosis and related fractures. We should provide education about bone health and can give practical suggestions for preventing falls and fractures.
